The easy way ...

black = "#000000"
white = "#ffffff"

A L S O ...

Any combination of these six will do
the trick (browser safe)...

00
33
66
99
cc
ff

i.e. ...

rrggbb
"#0000ff" (default link color)

rrggbb
"#ff0000" (Jim's favorite)

Just remember that '00' is the darkest
and 'ff' is the lightest

You can also use color names! Later
versions of the major browsers support
color names. For more information

Please, keep it safe. I've had very
bad experiences with color. I once
designed a site using a nice shade
of brown only to find out that the
entire thing was PINK on a Mac. :(
