HUH! You can FTP anything you want to any directory you have
write access to. What they might have meant is that some of the
FP stuff only works if you let FP do the uploading. Once a site
has been "created" it can't track any manual changes ... it's
too stupid to be able to check what it thinks it has versus reality
and make the necessary changes.
