Hard to say; there have been several loony patents awarded, for ideas that are absurdly obvious and already in use by the likes of Alta Vista and Netscape (eg., the amazing idea of allowing a user to "search by name instead of URL, so that a search for 'Chevy' would find General Motors...")
If these "innovators" sue Alta Vista, they will probably walk out of court without their patents. On the other hand they may be planning a mass shakedown of smaller companies. I expect to file any threatening letters in the "nut mail" folder, same as I did before the Internet.
