This is widely IGNORED by search robots and browsers alike, except
on an intranet. Nearly every page put a really short revisit time,
so the search sites decided to heck with it and stuck to their own
schedules. It's useful if you have management software that can
do something with it.

I have found this to be looked at very closely mainly by
Infoseek, Hotbot, Lycos

I used to have mine set at 14 but I found out that this is still not
the optimum revisit choice but it is very close!

I was bumped off info seek when I made it 5 or 30

It takes a couple of months to get the feel of your specific
revisit number. I think this might be in fact that it also
takes the keywords into account and that engines like Infoseek
only spider up to 250 characters on each webpage.

You are right about the mailto: meta tag and it does play a
major role in site relevance ratings.
