Because the name of one of my products is routinely mis-spelled by browsers, I put up a bridge page with the incorrect spelling as the title, and repeated it once in the keywords and once in the body.
The page briefly popped up on AltaVista, HotBot, and Infoseek. Within days it disappeared from all three.
Have you any theory on how bridge pages are handled by the search engines?
(I did use a REFRESH command to send browsers to the correct home page, but I set the time to 12 seconds to avoid the wrath of the engines.)
