Whats a good free web hit counter?

I used a counter from TheCounter.com but it seems to have become
extremely unreliable lately. I think this is due to them completely
a major site upgrade at the moment.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone could recommend another cool web
site counter that's free and configurable (so that the stats aren't
printed on the page)?

Any help would be hugely appreciated :)
