Bread Crumbing

Is there a simple way to include "bread crumbing" on a site? I
would like to have a set of links on my page that would enable
the user to jump back 1 or more levels as they navigate. I have
seen it on some pages, but am not sure how the effect was
achieved. It would look something like this:
Home >> Pictures >> December >> Xmas Eve
Where each word would be a link back to the previous level and
the last one would represent the current page.
