Every search engine tells you this. If you want to be in the search engines, go to http://www.dmoz.org and submit there. Make sure your site has real content and not just affiliate stuff or it won't be allowed. Once it is in dmoz.org, just wait for the spiders to find you. If you can afford it, you will want to submit to yahoo and positiontech.com has inktomi, fast and ask submissions.
