Any ideas on which one to use?

It is not just a matter of which one but how and why.
As noted in aol's web site there are some problems with jpeg images
showing black bands. To REDUCE the risk of this optimize your image by
getting rid of internal coding which has nothing to do with the image.
There are some programs that will strip the unnecessary coding (nothing
comes to mind) so do a search at cnet zdnet tucows for image programs
I have also run into problems with some of my gifs. There are several
free optimizers for gifs on the web.
