I set up most of the sites I do with a Flash intro and in my experience SE's will not follow links in .swf files. You want people to see your splash page, you want to rank in the SE's, and you want to make sure people have the plug-in to view your splash page. I guess you are using an alternate .gif file for users without the Flash plug-in, so you might just want to adding some keyword rich text to the non-Flash version of your splash page and the robots may follow links placed there. What I do is built doorway pages, with lots of keywords and add a Flash detecting script to the top of it. The pages rank on the text and the script carries users with Flash straight to my intro movie or my Flash enhanced web site. It's working fairly well so far, but I havn't had as much time to devote to promotion lately. Yes, promotion is a lot of work, I hate it...except this kind of promotion.
