First of all, if you have a friend in college, you can ask them to get it for you at a HUGE discount. My husband got it for me for just $99. Now, you might not even need to do that. Simply download PDFwriter (or PrintToPDF) program and install it on your computer. When you print your Word file, simply choose PDFwriter as your printer instead of your real printer. You are going to end up with a PDF file but won't be able to make any changes there. So make sure you make all changes in Word, then print.
