I've worked on a lot commercial websites - best to check the logs really - but i've allways designed for 800x600.
you could detect to see what screen res they're using, then send them to a frameset designed specifically for that res....but thats too much work really....
have a look at http://www.condoms4u.com/ (a site i've done a lot of work on) - thats designed to work fine in any resolution....try it out...
