This is not a one time fee...you are paid up for two years. After that it will cost you 35 bucks a year.

>I understand there is an approx. one-time $70 fee to register a domain name.

The other fees will be with your ISP or hosting company. If you don't use it right away, you will have to paid to point the domain somewhere. Hosting companies charge a one time fee to do this....but I think I have seen hosting companies that will do this free of charge, in hopes of gaining you as a customer in the near future.

Go to http://www.internic.net ...this is where you singup and register your name.

>Does anyone out there know what these fees are, and how to go about registering and securing a domain name?

Good luck!
