Can we write this .cc crap off like we all did for the .to domains? I see that some of the bigger companies have actually gone ahead and spent the $100 US for the two year use of .cc. They feature a version of the InterNic whois search on their site.

Don't know about a future for .cc, but on a broader scale
I think some new top level domain will join .com, just as
new area codes and longer telephone numbers have proliferated
throughout the G7 countries.

Since a German or Australian already knows the difference
between .com and .de and .au (and presumably .org), the
questions are really:

1. When will the lumpen U.S. users figure it out?
2. When will .com cease being essential prestige for U.S. companies?
3. Which new TLD will join .com?
4. How long will it take the cyber-squatters to overrun the new TLD?
