>Hello. I am currently working on designing a web site for my new business, which is selling mobile home/manufactured housing parts and supplies. The only mental hurdle I haven't cleared yet though, is the shipping costs for some of the heavier items. Does anyone have any thoughts, or know of any sites/businesses that seem to be successful selling their (perhaps larger and heavier)products over the internet, despite the possible hinderance of expensive shipping costs? Thanks very much for any input.

SHIPPING COSTS EAT ME ALIVE!!!!!
That said I'm shipping jewelry light weight stuff but insurance intensive.
I offer free shipping for items over $200 to help induce the sale.
And elimitant shipping confusion for the buyer. UPS Next day Air
saver works well or USPS express mail also works well. I have a co-worker
who sells mail-order and will be doing internet order of custom
automobile parts. Weights of 20-30 #s and up are not uncommon for an
order of custom rims. He has told me he uses only UPS next day or
2nd day air and includes the costs for the buyer to pay. But he has
not sold via a web site yet to know what to expect, he has only used
web auto bulletin boards to sell via the web, but has accepted credit cards.
Hope this helps.
