Help! When to resubmit?

Hi, all,

I'm writing an article on search engine submission, and a question came up that I don't know the answer to: How long should you wait before resubmitting your site to the search engines if it isn't indexed the first time? Does it depend on the search engine? Is two months long enough to wait in general?
