One question: Do you only need one favicon.ico file on your server, or will a request occur when an IE user "bookmarks" a page from a subdirectory? In other words, do you need this file in every subdirectory?

Hi Greg. My logs show if the favicon file is not found in
the current directory, it will look to your root for it.
I have somepages I want a special icon for so I put the
file right in the directory, for everything else it looks
for the file in the current directory (log shows a 404) and
then looks at the root and finds it.
