Perhaps the single worst website goof
From Jeff on 27 May '00
Websites love to post copyright notices. It makes the site look big
and important for ZERO cost, no matter how awful the site.

That's fine until January 1, when, in most cases, the notice just
makes the site look out of date. My experience is that more than half
of websites still say "copyright 1999" or before. It's common to
find interior pages even on major sites that are dated 1996.

An out of date copyright notice says "Ignore this site. We have!"

Why don't major sites just put their copyright in an Include page, if
they feel compelled to post a date?
