Ok, so the SEs are done.. keep on top of them. Meanwhile,
promote your site elsewhere. If you've read this site, you
know the do's and dont's of Usenet posting. Also try to find
some other sites that deal with the same topic as yours and
see if they have a message board. Be as blantant as you dare,
but its best to have something to say when you're promoting
your site.

What else... Try to get on a list serve that deals with your topic
and be active. If you have some $$$ try advertising in a publication
that deals with your topic, but who has $$$? Send a press release instead.
Make it a nice packet and they may do an article on ya... better than an ad!
I did a web page for a bike shop and we sent a nice press pack to all
the local papers and TV stations. The pack had a one page promotional
copy with contact info and a photo and another full color page with
screen shots and other photos and a local bike map. We also included a little tube of
bike chain lube (free to us from the vendor), a water bottle with the
company name and logo (our cost $2)and bike riding safety sheet. Cost us
less than $75 to send all of these out. 2 TV stations came & did stories on
their local news and 4 newspapers gave us nice write-ups. In fact, a
few of those reporters are now our customers.

In short, don't just count on the Web to spread the word.. you
can get some good print and TV exposure for free if your smart...
