We don't have an incoming tollfree number.
Our site lists our regular business phone number. Only once
or twice have internet customers complained about our lack
of a tollfree number. Twice, I've been told by e-retailers who
had them that they don't think they're important.
Getting an 800/888/877 # (whatever!) from the telephone company
is (used to be?) several hundred dollars a month. I know there
are now ways to use 800 numbers on a per minute basis.
Questions: 1) Do you feel having such a number is important to
increase sales? 2) Will it increase the number of bothersome
calls? 3) Can you suggest an American company that offers low
priced incoming tollfree service?
This is a topic I've virtually never seen discussed on
ecommerce discussion groups I follow.
