What they are doing is making sure each copy of the database is the same across several servers.
If the database is not the same then each search would be different because each search you do is using a different server.
Workload balancing is the term used when a user is switched to another (least used)server when other servers are too busy.
The search is the most acurate after the replication when you see that you are able to submit on infoseek.
So I guess Infoseek replicates once every 2 months?
Mabye more maybe less depending on the submissions.
I could be wrong but I guess it might be best to submit after a repliaction if you have "FRESH"
info on your website. I guess fresh could be considered as a 20%(could be more or less just guessing) in a HTML document.
So I guess you could say in laymans terms that replicating is infoseeks way of catching up with
all the submitters out there.
How did I get this info?
I used to work at www.MRIS.com
Their database technology and is pretty much built the same way.
