The influence of directory size on SE ranking From Nicholas on 10 Jan '01 Does anyone know if the number of files in a directory influences search engine ranking? That is, I have 150 HTML pages to put somewhere. I can dump them all in root/subdirectory/, or I can break them up into root/subdirectory/subsub1 ... subsub2 ... subsub3. Obviously it may be a bit more work to get them listed if they are on the third level down rather than the second. But will it matter to their eventual ranking?
