Because I'm always searching for images for design research, the idea of object-based searching seemed pretty cool and kind of rad. But I don't know of any search engines that use it. Theu article talked about the technology, but gave no other info.
I know, for instance that Excite has an image search, but it's still keyword-based, as are the others that pull up image results.
If anybody has had any experience either using or developing visual search, please let me know.
