>Suppose you want a high ranking for the phrase "tables and chairs"
>If you fill your tags and body text with this exact phrase, will it
>rank ahead of pages with "tables" or pages with "chairs" ?
>You'd think so, wouldn't you ?
>But I fear the single keyword pages would beat you, partly because
>the search engines ignore the "and".
**ALL OTHER THINGS BEING EQUAL** an exact phrase will always match
100% so it can't be beaten for that precise string, but the advantage
in this case isn't even worth talking about.
Given a choice between the two separate keywords and the single string,
the two separate words would get more traffic overall, but ideally
you'd use both methods to hedge your bets.
