I use this tag only when the site is in a different language and
using a different characterset. Doesn't affect ranking only user
viewing.

Although some folks might disagree I have had excellent luck with
the revisit-after tag and included it on all my sites. I change
it to 15 days however.

I use this tag on all sites. Although the content should be like
"index,follow". Affects ranking only in that it makes it easier
for the spiders to get around your site. Typically this tag is
used to block spiders from indexing parts of your site. However
it doesn't hurt to include it this way.
