I'm not sure what you're asking.

I believe you want to know which search engines are used most
by everyone on the internet and not just by people going to a
specific site.

Try www.searchenginewatch.com There are a couple of companies that
track the popularity of each search engine with both business and
personal web searchers. Searchenginewatch reports this info. They
also have an excellent free monthly newsletter that everyone on here
should subscribe to.

About free counters: I use counter.com and like it. The graphic
counter can be user selected to be either visible or invisible.
There is no extra charge for the invisible version which my site
uses. If you want to see which SE visitors used to find your site
their counter has that info, along with much more.
