Changes at AltaVista, none for the better From Nicholas on 25 April '99 Several changes to AV, some mentioned on this board: 1. paid listings on the way 2. Compaq (parent company) pushing fast towards an IPO 3. MSN is now a major customer for AV results 4. Louis Monier (head of tech) left a couple of weeks ago, reason undisclosed. It adds up to the distinct possiblility that AV may radically deteriorate over the next few months.
