See AV Top 3: big ???

My goal is a top 10 on Alta Vista for keywords "maui real estate" among others.

Checking the compitition I discover the following:

#1 URL uses NO META TAG KEYWORDS at all. www.eramaui.com/develop.html
#2 URL has SPAMMING keywords (uses "maui" over 25 times). www.maui411.com/estate.html
#3 URL again uses no keywords. www.inside-hawaii.com/pg/real_estate/realestate.htm

I am painstakingly developing search engine friendly gateway pages as tutored here at deadlock,
so this kind of discovery is confusing and disheartening. By the way, the site I have taken over promotion for uses keyword spamming, and went from number 7
last month to being dropped off of Alta Vista entirely.

Any helpful ideas?
