BUILDING your Link Popularity From Marco Piazzalunga at The Community of TalkTalkChat on 15 June '99 Suppose I want to build my Link Popularity for a better ranking in the search engines that take it in account (Infoseek, Excite, Lycos, Webcrawler, Hotbot?). If I have my homepage at the root domain www.companyname.com/default.htm describing all the services offered each one with its own root page such as www.companyname.com/service1.htm, www.companyname.com/service2.htm, ... etc..., what is the target link considered by the search engines, the root domain or the rootpage of every service, or both? In other words, do I have to create the greater possible number of links to my homepage, to the root pages of every service, to both, or do the search engines look only to the root domain? Thank you.
