I'm not sure if this is still true. I think it is. When you submit your url to a search engine you are placed at the bottom. If you resubmit, it deletes the place you have worked up to and places you back at the bottom. Companies used to resubmit their competitors to keep putting them at the bottom. So I'd submit once and leave it alone.
