Thanks very much for the advice. Went to Raw Access Logs and

viola.excite.com = ArchitextSpider
scooter.pa.alta-vista.net = Scooter/2.0 G.R.A.B. V1.1.0
marvin.northernlight.com = Gulliver/1.3

and guess what? Deadlock showed up also:

spider-to058.proxy.aol.com - - [24/Oct/1999:18:49:23 -0400] "GET /typingtutor/index.html HTTP/1.0" 200 5798 "http://deadlock.com/bbs/robots/920.html" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; AOL 4.0; Windows 95; DigExt)"

How did that happen? Learning all the time; it's great; thanks again
